Boiler Plant Upgrade – School Campus in The Bronx

This project involved the evaluation of and upgrade to, the heating system(s) at a school campus, where there was originally a central heating plant that heated all buildings on the campus. Since the 1960s, the school has been creating individual heating plants in specific buildings on campus to heat their respective buildings. At the start of this project, there were only 2 buildings remaining on the central heating plant. Our scope was to design a completely new boiler plant in one of the buildings and resize/dismantle and replace the existing central heating plant with a much smaller, properly sized boiler system for that building. The new systems should save a large portion of the previously wasted energy and costs.
